My name is Florian Ramirez Köhler and I am 22 years old. With the help of the Peru-Aid I was able to participate in a seminar of Festo Didactic. At the moment I study Industrial Engineering at the University of Ricardo Palma (last semester) in Lima, Peru.
At the same time I work at my university. In March a labatory for automation was built in by a German company. The problem was that no one really knew how to use it properly. It arose the opportunity to participate in an international training in Germany which was about this technology. This training was to be held in Esslingen and Dortmund (Oct 2nd - Oct 12th 2000). I made contact with the company (Festo Didactic) and I was accepted to the training. A new problem arose: how to finance my flight ticket? Festo Didactic covered the costs of my training. Because of the difficult economic situation of Peru it is very difficult to organise a flight ticket to Europe. Therefore I made contact with the Peru-Aid by writing an email to Manfred Görgens. He wrote back immediately and said to me that the Peru-Aid would like to help me. The Peru-Aid covered the costs of my flight ticket without I would not have able to participate in the training and I would not have been able to look after the new facility at my university.

    The course consisted of:
    - training in robotics
    - persecution of pictures for control of quality
    - storage systems
    - CNC machines
    - intensive training in roboter programming

I also had an insight into German culture. I got to know people from different countries like Thailand, Mexico, Brasil, Malaysia, China, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates. My time in Germany has been interesting and thrilling, and brought me a lot on a personal level. I want to thank the Peru-Aid again for the great support they have given to me. We are still dependent on help in our countries. Without this help we would not have the chance to go on. Thank you again.
